Introduction
A Vendor Rating consist of several segments. The segments are the building blocks of the Vendor Rating Method. The importance of each segment can be defined by giving weight to the segment. A method can be re-used and this is advisable to make ratings uniform and comparable. When necessary, methods are editable.
Segments
There are six different segments in Vendor Rating Method. At least one segment is needed in a Vendor Rating Method. Each segment will result in a line in the Vendor Rating. By giving weight to the segment the importance of the segment can be determined. The segments in Vendor Rating are:
Column | Description |
Price reliability | The extent to which a vendor provides accurate invoices. By analyzing ERP data the difference in invoice price and expected price is calculated as a percentage right price over all invoices or as the relative difference per price. |
Delivery reliability | The difference between scheduled delivery date and actual delivery date. As relative difference per event or as percentage on time over all orders. |
Comments | Comments can be made by all users of the system within the organization. If comments have a value they will be part of Vendor Rating when the segment Comments is part of the Vendor Rating Method. |
Surveys |
Survey templates can be made to question users in the organization about the Vendor and can consist of multiple survey segments. If a survey segment is added in a Vendor Rating Method a survey will be created when a Vendor Rating is started and will be sent out to the selected users in the organization. |
Agreements | By adding the Agreements segment the result of all contract agreements in the measurement period of the Vendor Rating will be incorporated in the Vendor Rating. |
Actions | The result of all actions in the Vendor Rating period will be used in this segment. |

Method segment Rating
Per reliability segment (price reliability or delivery reliability) a rating table needs to be created. Click on 'price reliability' or 'delivery reliability' under link to set rules for the segment. The table Method Segment rating will appear. Fill out the form and click update to make table line. Make more table lines for a more detailed rating segment.
Price reliability - method rating success percentage
Set rules to calculate price reliability with data base analysis. The calculation method 'success percentage' determines the percentage of prices on the invoice what correspond with the expected price. Make rules to transform the percentage in a score. For example 0-20% score 1, 20% - 40% score 2, etcetera.
Column | Description |
From | Lowest boundary of zone |
Until | Highest boundary of zone |
Unit | Choose percentage |
Rating | Rating of the defined zone |

Price reliability - method weighted average
Set rules to calculate price reliability with data base analysis. The calculation method 'weighted average' calculates per invoice line the difference in percentage between price and expected price. Make rules to transform each percentage in a score. All the scores are averaged and will result in a score for the segment.
Column | Description |
From | Lowest boundary of zone |
Until | Highest boundary of zone |
Unit | Choose percentage (days reflects on delivery reliability) |
Rating | Rating for the defined zone |

Delivery reliability - method weighted average
Set rules to calculate delivery reliability with data base analysis. The calculation method 'weighted average' calculates per delivery the difference in days between delivery date and expected date. Make rules to transform number of days in a score. All the scores are averaged and will result in a score for the segment. For example -10 to -2 days = score 2 , -1 till 1 = score 4, 2 to 3 = score 3, etcetera.
Column | Description |
From | Lowest boundary of zone |
Until | Highest boundary of zone |
Unit | Choose days |

Delivery reliability - method rating success percentage
Set rules to calculate delivery reliability with data base analysis. The calculation method 'success percentage' determines the percentage of on time deliveries within the database. Make rules to transform the percentage in a score. For example 0-20% score 1, 20% - 40% score 2, etcetera.
Column | Description |
