Step 2: Creating a survey template

When starting a Vendor Rating or Audit, it is important to first determine the goal behind the rating/audit. What exactly do you want to assess, or what information do you want to request from a supplier?

Before we actually get started with sending Vendor Ratings and audits, we will first look at survey templates and Vendor Rating methods.

First, let's create a survey template.

Creating a survey template

1. Navigate to Vendor Rating > Settings. This article explains this page in greater detail.
2. Open the tab 'Survey template'.
3. Click 'Add'.
4. Enter a 'Description', this description is used as the name for the template.
5. Select an 'Answer form type'.
   Default: All questions are presented in a vertical list, per supplier.
   Matrix (question): All questions are shown as a header with all linked suppliers below. Choose this option if the amount of suppliers is greater than the amount of questions.
   Matrix (vendor): All suppliers are shown as headers with all questions below. Choose this option if there are more questions than suppliers.
   
6. Click 'Add'.

You have now created your very first survey template. A survey template is only useful when it is fully designed. We will start designing our template in the next lesson.
